I’ll give Cs-of-O to all qualified applicants – Amosun

The Ogun State Governor , Ibikunle Amosun , has assured all qualified applicants under its Home Owner Charter programme that they will receive their land title documents before the end of his administration .
Amosun made this known during the 21 st batch of distribution of Certificate of Occupancy and other land title documents to successful applicants at Obas Conference Hall , Oke Mosan , Abeokuta .
“No applicant was edged out except for the reasons that they were not qualified. For instance , those who built on government lands meant for housing , agric and industrial purposes were not qualified for the scheme, as well as those who build on oil pipelines , ” he said .
Amosun , who was represented by the Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning, Mrs. Ronke Sokefun , said the government would not renege on its promise to ratify the homeownership of applicants notwithstanding its huge financial implications .
He assured the applicants that government would sustain the distribution of Cs - of - O bi - monthly .
The governor enjoined those applicants who had yet to receive their Cs - of - O not to lose hope in the scheme, but keep faith with government and be confident that it would fast - track the processes for timely distribution .
In his remarks , the Director General and Special Adviser, Bureau of Lands and Survey, Mr . Biyi Ismail , said the state government had been consistent in giving out Cs - of- O to successful applicants for several months, nothing that the scheme was bound to fulfil its purpose .
Two of the applicants, Mr . Paul Egbedu and Mr . Kola Yaya Sule , in separate interviews , commended government for the new initiative to distribute the documents twice a month , saying the present administration had done well in authenticating their homeownership
